8 Ways to Enjoy Eucalyptus Radiata Essential Oil This Summer
This month we're featuring Eucalyptus Radiata in our July 2026 Scent of the Month Club, and it's one of those essential oils I reach for year-round.
Most people think of eucalyptus during cold and flu season, but Eucalyptus Radiata has a softer, sweeter aroma than Eucalyptus Globulus, making it a wonderful choice for everyday use. During the summer months, I especially enjoy it when seasonal allergies, smoky skies, or long days outdoors leave me wanting to take a deep, refreshing breath.
Whether you're a member of our Scent of the Month Club or simply looking for new ways to enjoy this versatile essential oil, here are a few of my favorite ideas.
1. Fill a Personal Aromatherapy Inhaler
A personal inhaler is one of the easiest ways to enjoy Eucalyptus Radiata throughout the day. Simply add 10 to 15 drops to the inhaler wick and keep it in your purse, pocket, desk, or car for portable aromatherapy whenever you need it.
2. Enjoy a Steam Inhalation
Add 2 to 3 drops of Eucalyptus Radiata to a bowl of steaming water. Lean over the bowl with your eyes closed, place a towel over your head, and breathe deeply for several minutes.
This is one of my favorite ways to enjoy eucalyptus when the air feels dry, dusty, or filled with seasonal allergens.
3. Create a Spa-Like Shower
No fancy equipment needed!
Place a warm, damp washcloth on the shower floor, away from the direct stream of water. Add 2 to 3 drops of Eucalyptus Radiata and let the steam gently carry the refreshing aroma throughout your shower.
4. Make a Breathe Easy Roller Blend
10 ml Roller Bottle
-
4 drops Eucalyptus Radiata
-
4 drops Lavender
-
2 drops Ravintsara
-
Fill with jojoba or fractionated coconut oil.
Apply to pulse points or the back of your neck as desired.
5. Fresh Air Diffuser Blend
-
3 drops Eucalyptus Radiata
-
2 drops Lemon
-
1 drop Lavender
Diffuse throughout your home for a bright, fresh scent.
6. Breathe Easy Diffuser Blend
-
3 drops Eucalyptus Radiata
-
2 drops Ravintsara
-
1 drop Peppermint
A wonderful blend to enjoy whenever you want your space to feel fresh and invigorating.
7. DIY Shower Steamers
Ingredients
-
½ cup baking soda
-
¼ cup citric acid
-
Water in a spray bottle
-
10 to 12 drops Eucalyptus Radiata essential oil
Directions
Mix the baking soda and citric acid together in a bowl. Lightly mist with water until the mixture resembles damp sand. Stir in the essential oil, then firmly pack into silicone molds.
Allow to dry overnight before removing from the molds.
To use, place one shower steamer on the shower floor where it will receive light splashes of water rather than the direct stream.
8. Freshen the Air Naturally
Diffuse 5 to 8 drops of Eucalyptus Radiata whenever you'd like to enjoy its fresh, clean aroma. It's especially nice after gardening, house cleaning, or spending time outdoors.
